The multi-verse was a rather inspired atheist defense against the ubiquity of theological philosophy. These days it is not supported by science, and requires assumptions of infinite proportions.

Why would a theory that requires the maximum presumption possible be taken seriously, even by many scientists? Maybe its repeated set of existences infer that everything is reactive happenstance, which works well with the amorality of materialism.
