Save Some Life
I’ve worked at a lot of very different jobs, but have been financially challenged most of my life. I tried to save money, but I’d lose it whenever a Bush presidency impugned the economy. I did manage to accrue a little social security, and I am thankful that the Republicans failed to privatize it.
Circumstance put me in situations that I could not predict would turn out as well as they did. Upon reconsideration, you have to take back misplaced resentment and appreciate when circumstance turns out for the better. It’s important to have a good attitude, and circumstance likes to be reconsidered.
Between listening to and playing music, literature, and outdoor activities like bicycling, I’m not always able to entertain a nap.
Many who are retired and better financed than myself feel bored and unfulfilled. Capitalism has us so focused on money that we become thoughtless and forget how to play. For some of us, retirement can be fatal.
Being thoughtful can bring us purpose. Purpose can drive a great retirement. If I was a little more thoughtful, I’d consider how unnecessary it is for those who suffer from having less than even me.
I’m going to take some time for the purpose of doing what little I can for us to have a nicer, more civilized society.
Tomorrow.
Thanks for reading.
