Russia Is Not The Bad Guy We Need
We dusted off that obsolete cold war relic of NATO and perverted its original defensive posture. We’ve aimed it at Russia, and set Russia up to respond with military force as we would do if a hostile force were on our border. We do a song and dance about a boogey man threatening all of democracy, but our interference in Ukraine, like in dozens of other countries, shows our disrespect for what average people want versus the greed and control of our corporate leaders.
We need badder guys than Russia and China. We question the motivation of what might be their positive positions, and react with alarm when they attempt to somewhat compensate for our overwhelming investment in our military might and global control.
Our navy is in the Chinese Sea to keep China from controlling it. We’d never let them do that near the U.S. For China to want to dominate the Chinese Sea doesn’t sound like something we wouldn’t do, even though there is no American Sea.
They’re just not bad enough. It’s hard to blame Russia about press freedom when we kept Julian Assange in prison for a decade for exposing our war crimes, and having him plead guilty to espionage before we let him go. We denied this, but the puppet countries that obviously did our bidding are proof that significant threats to democracy can be far from the war in Ukraine.
Why do we not question obvious falsehoods? Maybe in the short run, it’s easier to believe propaganda. But it’s worse than gossip, and worse than sin.
