Weapons corporations benefit from conflict. On a global scale, this does not bode well, especially when the rest of the world is relatively civilized with its resulting practicality and efficiency.
We, however, are returning to jungle law with our thoughtless materialism and profit motive and competitiveness that requires our disregard for others. We do not honor education and knowledge (remember wisdom?), which allows for our ignorance of the purpose of NATO and its misuse as a weapon against Russia.
Our weapons industry needs bad guys, so we paint China and Russia with unfounded assumptions and processed rumors. Our media touts itself more than the truth and thoughtful analysis. Before Russia invaded Ukraine, no one asked why NATO was not considered as a likely and logical cause of the war.
Our journalists are stenographers for our administration and its owners. We allow a complacent media.
We declare Russia Television as propaganda, but their prosecution of a Journalist reporter was hard to mention while we were prosecuting Julian Assange. So we gave him a plea deal that required him to plead guilty on a trumped up charge of espionage.
Here’s the kicker: The U.S. denied a role in creating the plea deal. How absurd. He was being held to be extradited to the U.S. as an example against the free press. If the U.S. wasn’t involved, who’s going to charge him with espionage?
