Embedded Media Mission: Omission
When Russia complained about NATO and Biden didn’t listen, standard journalist function would be to note the original and completed purpose of NATO. Completely excluding such vital critical reference is professional dysfunction or a nod to censorship or both. Either way, a huge lie by omission.
Biden himself implicated us in the destruction of the Nordstream pipeline. Lack of investigation was a media failure of criminal proportions. The absence of likely results is another lie by omission.
Our invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan left those countries in shambles. Proponents of those fiascos are used by the media today as dependable, objective references. Naturally, they promote weaponizing Ukraine.
Eventually, whether by omission or not, lies will catch up with you. The attack that killed a contractor and wounded some of our military in Syria was met with limited outrage. Their President Assad said he was fighting terrorists. Our military called them rebels and gave them support. Our presence in Syria is uninvited and occasionally attacked. Our lethal response against those who fight against us there we claim as defensive. But an uninvited presence in an unfriendly country is, by definition, offensive. Attacking an offensive presence is a defensive move. But why split hairs when you can just lie by omission? It’s easy when the uncurious only read their preferred version of reality.
The media doesn’t question our military presence in Syria, even though it’s on the other side of world.
Ukraine is on the Russian border. But if you can forget that along with our applicable historic influence, you can loudly and repeatedly claim that Russia’s invasion was unprovoked. The regularity with which they are given the part of bad guy by the media makes it easier to presume wrong doing belongs to them.
We’re the good guys. We can go anywhere we want. Unprovoked, but that goes without saying.
