I had a lucid dream once. I was afraid to control it because I didn’t know what the repercussions would be.

“It’s just a dream,” people may say. You can also say, “Other than just the rest of reality.” If you don’t want to consider the relationship, then that’s just fine. Just please shut up.

Anyway, I have stupid dreams. I’ve caught myself having some pretty mundane dreams. Dumbed down, doing dishes dreams. Who dreams of doing dishes?
I imagine that my imagination is phoning it in and sleeping, or something. Or nothing. Now I need to dream that I have an imagination.

There’s something about dreams that seem a little more hooked up than just our thoughts. I think dreams leak. If I had another lucid dream, unless I knew more, I wouldn’t change anything all over again. You could move something to avoid a problem, but it causes bigger problems later. It could domino into an avalanche.

The lucid ones notwithstanding, all dreams seem real. The thing about dreams is that you’re sure it’s real and that you’re awake. Otherwise nightmares wouldn’t be a big deal.

Pinching yourself is not proof you’re awake. There’s no reason that you can’t dream that you’re pinching yourself. Better to pinch someone else. Then they can slap you.

There’s no reference to whether we’re dreaming or not. I always reject the idea that I’m dreaming, a lot of times before I wake up. And I was as sure I was awake as I am now.
