Conservative Hero, Rat Fink Actor

Post WWII visited a Capitalist oppression of Communists and Socialists. They were a threat to the robber baron status quo. So under the guise of nationalism, we experienced the antithesis of freedom and what it means to be an American. We punished people for their beliefs.

The repressed were expelled from their jobs and blacklisted. McCarthyism peaked when finally the trusted Ed Murrow asked the Senator on national television if he had no decency.

The society had been attacking itself. Hollywood was affected. Many talented writers and actors were ruined for their political beliefs. Actor Ronald Reagan reported on his subsequently ruined peers. When he defected from Democrat to Republican he was awarded the presidency. For creating problem government, the welfare queen, and being a union buster, he was made a conservative hero.

Reagan was not a good president economically or socially. But Kid Bush seemed as bad as a president could get.
Until Trump.

Can we be that naive, mean, or stupid?
Or could it be a system that rewards promoters of the status quo?
Social values are the human currency.
Money is the sole value of the sociopath capitalist.
